Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park’s volunteer program is one of the more successful programs in the State Park system. The volunteer program provides the community with an opportunity to give something to the Park, while providing a much needed workforce to enhance overall Park operations. Our volunteers help the Park run smoothly, 365 days a year.

Volunteers help in all departments including Administration, transportation, Wildlife Care, Enrichment, and Maintenance. Volunteers are also involved as Park Hosts, Manatee Watch, Outreach, Educational Programs, and Special Events. Hours volunteered at the Park count as work experience that is recognized by the Florida Park Service on job applications, and can count toward high school community service requirements. Becoming a volunteer is simple:

  • Stop by our office at the Visitor Center on U.S. 19 and fill out an application
  • Attend an orientation explaining the Program
  • Begin your on-the-job training
  • Fill out the form below

Thank you!
